Then, the flags of Lebanon and the Arab & International Leagues have been raised, and, at then end, there was a fireworks show that lighted the night of the village of Jamhour near Beirut .

The inauguration was held in the presence of the Minister Hofnanian, and the representative of the army General Michel Sleiman, Colonel Elias Jalbout, the representative of the general director of the Security of the State, the Major General, Edward Mansour, the lieutenant Colonel Tony Saliba, the consultant at the Iraqi embassy Khaled Al Kalli, in his capacity of representing the Iraqi ambassador, the vice-president of the Arab League for the game, Kayss Saadoun Al Samara'i, the president of the Syrian League for shooting Mounzer Al Khatib, the president of the Lebanese League for Gymnastics Mohamad Makki, the president of the Badminton Khodr Farchoukh, the secretary of the Ping Pong League, Salim Al Hajj Nicolas, the president of the two Lebanese and Syrian League for Kick boxing, Abdul Rahman Al Rayess, and a crows of eminent personalities.

The green playground of the Notre Dame De Jamhour College where the champion took place, offers magic ambiance to the inauguration festival, considering that the League had prepared the playground before the championship to make it ready for the event, in virtue of the international measurements stated by FITA.

2-The participating teams

The representatives of four Arab countries participated in the championship, which are Syria , Egypt (Shooting Police League), Iraq and Lebanon . It is to say that this number is not too bad since there are just few Leagues that really practice this activity in the Arab world.

The League provided good residence for the teams in Rotana Hotel, located in Hazmieh, few minutes far from Beirut .

FATA (Fédération Arabe de Tir à l'Arc - Arab Archery Federation) was founded on the 29th of May 1998 The founding members were Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lybia. Since then Egypt and Qatar have joined the FATA.

The Arab Archery Federation acts to strengthen the relations between the Arab youth and the sport of archery through the setting up of Arab and international tournaments and the transfer of knowledge and experience.
