| LAF participates in the US tournament held in Michigan, Sept.
’97. Lebanon was the only Arabic participating state in the event, alongside such teams from Canada, Mexico, Italy, Australia, China,... Its presence was highlighted by the victory of Philip Tamer (17 years) in the’ Intermediate Boys Guests’ category. His score was 970 points. On an administrative level, President Jacques Tamer attended the international meetings of the FITA that resulted in the reelection of Mr. James Easton (US) as president of the international federation. Also, plans were laid out for American coaches to visit Lebanon and endow the sport with new techniques. |
